I've been crafting up a bit more indecision, piecing and seam ripping to my heart's discontent like some frenzied painter who lives for her art. Finally I have before me the blocks I had realized I had wanted in my brain sometime last week. These will be my blocks for my bee month which starts next week!!!
I think I am happy! As you can see I have a little pieced tree addiction coming to the surface and it's all Shanna's fault for introducing them to me during her month which was back in June, I think I have enough pieced tree's in me to keep me in production until November at least!!! Talk about addictions you never thought you would get!!!
I am not the only addictee around here, the girls are addicted to collecting conkers, which get left out on a particular garden wall most afternoons on our walk home from school, for passing conker collecting addicts to help themselves to. They haven't got as far as actually using them, hubby may have to get out his drill this weekend........... The seeds are from helicopter trees and the girls have gone and planted some in their local play park in the hope that some heli-trees will sprout up there next year.
And now for one of those 'what has this got to do with anything' moments (!) I'm going to ramble on a moment about.............hatches!!!! That is very right hatches or hatch doors that lead from kitchen to front room for housewifey ease of dream like bliss!!! I don't know why but I have been thinking a lot about how much I like this detail in our 70's built home. People just don't rate a good old hatch these days but I would like to see their return. So if you are currently renovating or converting a house of any description, please give hatches a second thought (and a third). I urge you!!!! to bring back the hatch!!!
A hatch sounds better (& more practical) than our pass through - though we do have a nice counter at the pass through...

A freind of mine has a tiny door in the closet of one bedroom that leads to the bedroom next door. I want one. I love little doors and hatches- I am right there with you!

I've always wanted a hatch!!!!! Seriously. I have. Must be growing up in the 70s.
So, those are the blocks for ten make two Ooooh. I'd better get on with Sarah's. I'm so slack, and it's my bloomin' bee as well (a natural organiser I am not!)

Your quilt is like little windows into another adorable little world, and then there is the "hatch" -- another little window....

live and learn...I had no idea about "hatches", now I know. Your new quilt is really pretty, the mix and match of blocks a fabric is simply adorable. As for the heli-trees, I hope your girls are not dissapointed about how long it takes for a tree to grow...
