Apologies for the lack of posting this week, this was purely down to my internet connection being unavailable. Which is a good thing if you look at it in the terms of the following equation -
No time on the internet = more time to sew
So I have been sewing. Lots. Pouches mainly like those above, which I've made to house my supplies for the FQ retreat class I am teaching next week in London. I haven't sewn with my Little Apples prints for a while and I know it sounds a bit daft but I'd forgotten about a lot of the cute little details in these like the little shoes and the little book with the elephant on the front hidden away in the outfits print.
For the quilting - I've been playing around with scallops - this is my kind of quilting, quick, easy and kind of pretty without overdoing it. I just used a scallop stitch on my machine and enlarged it to the largest possible stitch size. Expect to see a lot more of those to come.

Very sweet goods, and I love those scallops! Fun!

I never realized that there's a book in the qutfit print since I only have one charm pack (and I NEED to finish this quilt, btw). Love your little pouches, Hildy

I can't believe you forgot the elephant! I made a bit of a goose of myself over that very elephant just last week. We have almost no good quilt shops here and when I made a rare trek to the only decent one in town I saw some of your prints and ran over and squealed when I saw the elephant on the book - all the "thimbleberries ladies" stared at me. Anyway, now I have some of my very own to make bags with. Hopefully they'll be as cute as yours.

Great idea on the scallops, will have to try that soon, I have some other stitches on my machine that might be good to try too. I haven't tried anything other than in the ditch for machine quilting so I need to be bold and give it a try!
